Beyond Dog Training: Dog Training For Dog Daycares

Beyond Dog Training:  Dog Training for Dog Daycares

February 12-16, 2018

Beyond Dog Training is for all daycare professionals working on the floor, including your most experienced handlers and team leads. Learn best practices that you can take back to your facility and implement right away to provide your dogs valuable life experiences.

Engage in hands-on training with your own rescue dog, and experience the Doglando difference! Go behind-the-scenes, as you and your dog journey through the Relay and Flow system used at Doglando, seeing first-hand how we guide our dogs through an enriched and exciting daycare experience.

Through this experiential learning course, you and your rescue dog will learn skills which apply to dog daycares most, including door and gate manners, group movement, and enriching games and activities. More importantly, you will understand the framework within which dogs learn, allowing you to teach new skills which apply specifically to your facility, so your team can develop a cohesive working structure.

Beyond Dog Training will teach you to become a true “Play Professor”, able to manage healthy play in large groups in a communal setting.

Participants will engage in hands-on training with adoptable rescue dogs from our partner, Pet Rescue by Judy.  In real time, with real dogs, participants will learn:

  • Reinforcement, presentation and timing
  • The ABC’s of behavior modification
  • Doglando’s 7 Rules of Play
  • The principle of LIMA: Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive
  • And much more

These principles will immediately be put to work in the real world as participants become part of our working dog enrichment center. Experience our “relay flow” system first hand as you work as a part of the Doglando team, and see up close how our facility works and grows. Pair off with one of our fantastic Play Professors and:

  • Understand how “trick” behaviors like “sit” are powerful and relevant in a daycare setting
  • Move dogs from place to place off leash, both singly and in groups
  • Assist the dogs in managing heat load and water use
  • Keep the yards clean throughout the day
  • Become a true “Play Professor” and manage “good play” in groups of 30-40 dogs in an outdoor setting

All skill levels are welcome. Newcomers to dog training will pick up a lot of basics very fast. Old hands will find new techniques and understanding.

Space is limited to just 15 participants, to maintain an intimate learning experience and provide plenty of one-on-one time with the University of Doglando trainers, so reserve your spot today!

Further discounts are available for groups of five or more.  Please let us know if you have a large group!
